Is the duelist rogue build going in soon?  When is the next update?

Next update is the 15th (tomorrow).  I assume the duelist rogue will be in there, but cannot verify.

If it came out last month then no, it'll be in the January update.

Looks like the article came out in early November.

Which means it was compiled at the end of november, and unless they changed things with the later holiday updates (as before there was only a week between compile and update) it would not come out until the 2nd month after it was released.

Which means I'm not getting Energy Strobe in the CB until January, either.  Well, darn.

Yeah.  Updates for Dragon are always a month behind.  So the December update will have the October issue of Dragon in it.  January will have the Nov. issue, etc.

But the Ardent class is available with this last (Dec. 15) update, and it's featured in Dragon #382. The Duelist Rogue is from #381. Why did they skip?

Previews always go in early.

Previews always go live immediately, mostly cause their content has already been mostly finalized long before its shown.

The assassin was also rushed into the  following month's update when it was first released.

Normal dragon articles, however, are not this fast.

The correct phraseology should be: Debut Content is released directly into the CB and Compendium and accompanied by a Dragon article with commentary.

I know we all consider it previews, and it is previews of PHB3 material, but it is dubbed Debut Content.

I like how the "bonus" PH3 debut content goes in instantly and the stuff we are thecnically paying for, takes 2 months to go in.

Frankly I am glad the couple of things I have been interested in lately have gone in quickly, bur waiting for the rest is maddening.  It's especially silly when they stressed so many times that PH3 content was a free extra benefit of DDI subscription, not a regular portion.

That's why God made pencils.  ;)

And that's exactly NOT why I pay for DDI.

They have done such an effective job of spreading out content with 4e that it's all but impossible to make a character without at least having the Compendium.  The character builder helps a lot with the math and saving time reading, but the Compendium is a necessity to find things.

Pencils can be bought at any store, I'm not paying WotC for that.  I'm paying for the use of the character builder and compendium, so it's fast and easy to make a character that no one needs to question.

Whoa, chill.  Some people have no sense of humor.  I thought smilies were suppose to mitigate this.

I also bought DDI to make things eaiser, but yes, nothing wrong with picking up the pencil.
When I have an evening to kill, it's fun to just go old-school and lay the books all over the floor, grab a blank character sheet and a pencil, and spend a few hours creating a character.

Still, I'd like to see the duelist rogue in CB soon.

It's okay by me, as I am DMing right now and won't be playing until March or so.
