This month brings The Scales of War "The Lost Mine of Karak", plus the "The Ziggurat Beyond Time", and "Menace of the Icy Spire". Here now are a full set of the maps -- tagged and untagged -- from Dungeon 159!

I am SOOOOO happy to see the untagged maps. That is a huge bonus for me.

Thank you, Wizzies!

Yes, thanks indeed! I'm also happy to see the untagged maps appear. This is a giant step forward.

One niggling issue though: Would it be possible to eliminate things that are "spoilers" also? Some of the untagged maps have information such as "Soft Sand" on them. Other maps have meta-information such as room numbers on them. Smart players will use the room numbers to be assured that they haven't missed anything ("oops, we're missing room 5, start checking for secret passages"!).

Still, this is a big improvement that makes the Dungeon modules a lot easier to prep for. Thanks again to Wizards for listening!

I'm really happy to see untagged maps as well, but they seem to be missing some. In particular there aren't untagged maps for the following:

The Lost Mine of Karak:

http://www.wizards.com/dnd/images/Dungeon_159/GuardHall.jpg

Menace of the Icy Spire:

Along the same lines, what are the chances that we'll get these kind of maps for the back issues of Dungeon (in particular I'd be interested in a set for the Scales of War adventures)?

Also, I'll echo the sentiment on untagged versions removing all meta-information, not just the monster starting locations.

The removal of information that players should only aqcuire by trial and error or by passing an appropriate knowledge check would also be nice (example "Soft Sand" and the shading marking those areas on the Desert Patrol map), but isn't, IMHO, critical.

Finally, I'd like to request higher resolution versions of the maps, if it's at all possible, so that they can be printed to scale without noticable pixelization. As is, these images aren't that much bigger than the ones you can extract from the pdf files themselves, and having already printed those out, I know that while usable, the pixelization makes the printed map look so much uglier than what appears on the screen.

Yup, there are several missing untagged maps and the "untagged" maps still have hazordous terrain marked on them. All in all I say its as half assed as the rest of DDI.

A request I have is that as a player and DM there are some maps that I personally don't want to see on the website when I am just browsing the maps page and others that I do. I can try to close my eyes when the maps come up that I don't want to see, but there is a simple css/javascript fix that would help me (and perhaps others).

A simple fix would be to wrap the map section (for each adventure) in a div tag and have links at the top of the page that run a simple javascript to change the div to toggle between display:none and display:table for each of the adventures.

But overall these are great and I'd rather have them and have to close my eyes than not have them at all. I also second the higher resolution versions if possible.

This is a great start. Kudos to WOTC for responding to a great suggestion from their customers.

Now to improve it, can the maps be placed in a folder with a single link for downloading?

It takes waaaaay too long to have to click on & load dozens of maps and save each individually when the solution is so simple.
