One of the tantalizing aspects of the skill challenge system is its ability to handle situations where the D&D rules have traditionally proven troublesome. This month’s installment of Ruling Skill Challenges looks at splitting up the party and the role skill challenges can play when the action takes place across several different areas. Running a game where the characters are scattered across a city or kingdom can prove difficult for a DM. A skill challenge helps make it more manageable by giving you a clear structure for managing the action.
