I downloaded it and installed it, but haven't had a chance to play it. Most of my time is spent at work or on college stuff. I did play it in the past, and I liked it, but not enough to pay a monthly fee. If you are looking for something that has an ebberron feel to it, that is not necessarily D&D then you will find it fun. If on the other hand you are looking for a true D&D experience in a MMO your just out of luck.

I used to play it, when it was for pay, and I really enjoyed it. It's great for logging on, doing a few quests, and then logging off. A great guild to check out is the Matur Adventurers Club on the Kyhber server. You can tell them Dane sent you. The reason I stopped, I wanted to focus more on my art and comics.

#5 obed Sep 16, 2009 13:02:21	I've been playing about a week or so now.  I'm digging it.  I play a Halfling Bard and a Human Sorcerer.  Both are Level 2 right now and fooling around Stormreach. What I like about it is that it really feels like the DnD world to me.  Also, it's FREE!!!! On the other hand, I'm having troubles getting back into a game that's based on the 3.5 rules.  I had played Neverwinter Nights for a while and had similar issues.  I don't really thing 3.5 rules translate well into a videogame.  4E rules, on the other hand, would seem to be ideal.  On the other (third?) hand, playing a bard in DDO has inspired be to get PHB2 and build up a 4E bard!
#6 P1NBACK Oct 10, 2009 1:12:20	I started up again recently due to it being free. I have two characters on the Thelanis server: Kjeldon ir'Brannick - Level 5 Paladin and Bernee the Blade - Level 1 Rogue.  Feel free to add me so we can quest up.  As a DM for tabletop play, it's a good way to get the player in me some satisfaction, but I must say if they put out an MMO for 4th Edition I'd drop DDO like it never existed.
