#1 Tyranthraxus Jun 06, 2010 2:24:45	Hi, Ive just bought an Ipad and was looking to buy some FR or DS novels to purchase to have a read. Have tried accessing both the ibooks and kindle stores to no avail. While they seem to be purchasable on kindle, they are NOT available to purchase by Australian customers. So how do I buy them then? Is another publisher selling them in ebook format in Aus? if so .. who? Many Thanks Matt

We apparently have some funny laws in regards to books imports (and somehow this includes ebooks form what I have been told) specifically regarding the price of selling them here.. our Govt puts crazy taxes on them. cheers Matt (as well)

I do know if you take the US price of a book and convert to AUS dollars (even allowing for some variance and shipping) the AUS price is alot higher than the US.. and this is for pretty much any book. The only time I have seen that it isn't the case is with comic books. I did hear a while back that the taxes on books were going to be scrapped (because they are retarded), but as far as i know it hasn't happened yet.
