| #1vebrandssonMar 01, 2009 0:48:17 | An article entitled "Ecology of Sharn" is set to release on the 6th. As someone with minimal knowledge of 3.x and its concepts I have never heard of Sharn (if it is a 3.x thing which I am assuming it is). Does anyone know what this is going to be? |
| #2ranadielMar 01, 2009 6:10:51 | Sharn(I think) |
| #3jimthegrayMar 01, 2009 10:20:54 | Sharn(I think) I thought they sounded familiar |
| #4AradeiaMar 01, 2009 11:18:01 | It could be referencing Sharn, City of Towers from the Eberron campaign setting. Eberron is set to release in a few months and they could be doing something to do with that. Just a thought. |

| #6serphetMar 03, 2009 10:48:06 | This article has been under work for a while IIRC, FR boards have had random murmurs about it. It is very clearly about the sharn (a type of monster/thing). If you are a FR fanatic this article should have you excited. There has never been a conclusive article on the origin of sharns, some books said they have existed since before time itself, other say it was the elves, and more say it was the product of wizards who transformed themselves. Prior to this all FR books had to be taken at face value, and understand that they were written from the PoV of a character in the FR. |
| #7LarsVoltaMar 06, 2009 4:03:12 | Where is it? ![]() I'm always looking for more informations about the realms and now the article isn't there. Please, WotC, give it to us later today. |
| #8Aaron_HighcolorMar 06, 2009 10:43:05 | It's up now. |
| #9WolfStar76Mar 06, 2009 12:30:53 | The article is up now, and I've created the "official" discussion thread over here: http://forums.gleemax.com/showthread.php?t=1158646 |
| #10CailteMar 06, 2009 19:02:37 | But it is an ecology article. Ecology articles cover races not locations. Which is funny really... because Ecology is about environment... |
| #11serphetMar 06, 2009 20:07:21 | Which is funny really... because Ecology is about environment... the context is different though. |
| #12CailteMar 14, 2009 3:05:46 | Its a word with a well defined meaning. Its not a matter of context. Its a matter of giving the word a different meaning. |
| #13serphetMar 14, 2009 10:33:11 | "the environment as it relates to living organisms" Sounds like a great metaphor to me. |
| #14CailteMar 15, 2009 8:19:09 | Its not a metaphor. To be more like an actual ecology article the "Ecology of..." articles would have to spend a lot more time talking about the actual environment and what it does to the creature(s) and less time talking about species variation etc. I don't think they should do that mind you (gah biology...boring)... but given the title its a fair call that it could have been talking about the Eberron city - which definatley has ecology going on ;) |
