Encounter Builder Error - Script Runs Slowly

May 27, 2011 9:47:24 I was on a different computer last night, and the Encounter Builder worked fine. So, I need some help figuring out what is wrong with this computer, and getting EB to work properly here, too.

Adobe Flash Player 10
A script in this movie is causing Adobe Flash Player 10 to run slowly. If it continues to run, your computer may become unresponsive. Do you want to abort the script?
Yes / No

I even went and just downloaded the latest version of flash from "get.adobe.com/flash" and that doesn't seem to have remedied the problem.

Has anyone encountered this before?

Close all browser windows and clear your cache.
Try a different browser.
Reboot.

May 29, 2011 5:57:15 I would also check which browser add-ons you have installed, removing and uninstalling anything unnecessary/tertiary. Things like Weather Bug, Online Dictionary, and Google Search can drag your browser performance down. Also, check your task bar and try shutting down other tertiary programs that may be running that you don't need at the moment, such as Steam or DropBox.

That being said, this site is notorious for having script errors that seem to crop up from out of nowhere. I have had plenty of times where everything is running without issue and the next day, while on the same computer, same browser, same page, script errors start surfacing.

I don't have extensions on either browser. I also have the latest version of flash - I just downloaded it. There's no weatherbug or search apps installed on my system or in my browser.

I've done this with everything I usually have open and everything closed except my browser. The error seems consistent. (Unless I'm on my windows machine, using Safari and Firefox and IE and Opera. Those work fine.)

Any other suggestions?

Jun 11, 2011 12:03:41 The only other note is that the EB is not an "official" WotC product. One of the devs back in the distant past wrote it for himself and with permission put it on the WotC site, but there is no official "support" for it per se. You're mostly on your own getting it to work on your combination of OS/Browser.
