| #1acerumbleJun 11, 2009 12:38:19 | The "Shop" portion of the CB program appears to be the only place where you can actively equip the character. After I do so, however, the Character Sheet view always has the Attack/Damage Workspace and Basic Attack sections written as Unarmed, regardless of weapons I assign. Am I missing something, or is this a bug? Thanks! |
| #2DarthbagginsJun 11, 2009 17:21:30 | I too have this problem. Initially on creating a character it displays the correct weapon in the attack and damage space but then going in to upgrade the character with new levels and equipment it reverts to unarmed. Very annoying. |
| #3MockJun 11, 2009 18:18:57 | If you right-click on those areas, select "Customize," and choose different weapons/powers to display, does that work? |
| #4acerumbleJun 11, 2009 19:05:43 | If you right-click on those areas, select "Customize," and choose different weapons/powers to display, does that work? That seem to be working. Thanks! Not sure if the numbers are adding up right, but I'll worry about that later. Since the bonuses from other items automatically calculated into the stats when equipped, like armor and amulets, I couldn't figure out why the weapons wouldn't either ![]() |
| #5darth_smaulJun 21, 2009 16:27:06 | I right click and the only options are see are to rename, change the damage, put notes, make it silver or weight. where is this option to "choose different weapons/powers to display" is the above what your talking about? I changed the damage, put in a test note, and none of those allowed it to show up arming my character. Any help would be great. steve |

| #7sotp_seamusJun 21, 2009 20:09:02 | How about this one: Has anyone noticed that, if you don't have a ranged weapon, the Character Sheet defaults to Ranged Attack (unarmed)? How would THAT work? |

| #9Swamp_slugJun 22, 2009 16:02:21 | And here was me thinking it was something to do with "throwing" a punch! ![]() bu-dum-ch. Thank you, thank you, I'm here all night! |
| #10luthyrJun 25, 2009 3:58:21 | Yup, I have a similiar problem. I had a custom weapon equipped ("Shapechanger's Sorrow" renamed to "Sehanine's Blade of Truth") but then got a Dragonslayer weapon. I switched weapons on the character sheet and even though I swapped out weapons and is showing the Dragonslayer equipped, whenever I bring up the character sheet for printing it still has the original weapon. I even tried deleting the old weapon; this time the character sheet changed and didn't list the new weapon, just unarmed. I finally re-added the old weapon again and it showed up on the print sheet again instead of the new weapon. |

Would be your loss. But you have to do what you have to do. Its easy to work around and takes seconds. If you want to lose out on all the future updates and books coming out then thats your choice. |

Are you actually looking at the character sheet or are you looking at the builder program? Make sure you are looking at the actual character sheet and scroll to your power cards, RIGHT click on the card and select "customize" and select the right one... If that is not working try... 2. Go up to the options and turn off all of the options that show all weapons and use custom information..save the sheet...close everything...reload...then try getting it to show custom info and weapons and such. |

| #14seanherring_dupJun 26, 2009 12:20:52 | So...you shop in the US? Stuff not working 100% as you think it should is a part and parcel of everything you own...cars...electronics...I can keep going. So are you going to become a hermit because nothing works right? |

So are you going to become a hermit because nothing works right? Nope, never meant to imply anything of the sort. Apologies if it came across that way. |
| #16_Mithreinmaethor_Jun 26, 2009 15:14:53 | I managed to fix the problem (and I appreciate the advice on how to do so - thanks, SeanHerring!), but I think you're missing the point. Part of your problem is that you consider the character builder and the character sheet viewer as one program. Which they are not. They are bundled together but are separate programs. The character sheet viewer takes information from the character builder and displays it. It has limitations, i.e it does not do recalculations for all aspects of changes in the character builder. Could they add an option to do this, probably. Will they, who knows. |
| #17luthyrJun 26, 2009 15:54:31 | Part of your problem is that you consider the character builder and the character sheet viewer as one program. Which they are not. They are bundled together but are separate programs. They are seperate pieces of functionality that pass data between them. The character builder updates other aspects of a character (name, level, powers, etc.) but doesn't update primary equipped weapons, a common user function when updating characters. Having to switch primary weapons on the character builder, then switch them on the generated character sheet, I don't perceive as very intuitive or user-friendly. I do hope they change that sooner than later. |
| #18echoshiftingJun 30, 2009 16:52:52 | What classes are those who are experiencing the weapon equip bug? My paladin is the only person in the group who is having this problem; I was wondering if it had anything to do with equipping a shield, an implement and a weapon, or something like that. Also, thank you sooooo much for that 'Customize' tip. I never would have found that! ![]() |
| #19mdonaisJun 30, 2009 21:28:54 | We did some improvements this month to this. It is pretty complicated because of a few corner cases that don't effect most users but worst case scenario you can right click various parts of the character sheet and choose specific weapons. |
