Error with backgrounds

Aug 13, 2009 10:04:02 Character Builder allows me to choose Cormyr as a character background, and it notes that Insight is added to the skill list and that I get a +2 bonus to insight, but it does not actually add insight to my skill list and does not add the +2 bonus. In previous editions it did, and if I update the character from those editions, its marked as house ruled and the +2 is not added to insight.

Sorry this if this is duplicative.

Aug 14, 2009 15:08:40 I've encountered the same problem, trying to choose "Cult Escapee" from the Scales of War adventure path. Should give me a +1 to Bluff, but it doesn't register on the character sheet Bluff bonus.

Aug 14, 2009 16:26:21 Did you choose the Background Benefit, in addition to the Background? Scroll to the top of the background window.

- in the main tab "BUILD" and then in the sub tab "Background" -

The summary window at the bottom of the page "Background Choice Checklist" defaults with an unselected top slot "Background Benefit", even if you had already chosen a primary Background with mechanical benefits. You simply click your pointer at the top of the page on your chosen background benefit line, directly below the primary "Background Benefit (optional)", should detail your background and have the word "Benefit" after it (" __________ Benefit"), and then at the bottom of that window click the button "Choose _________ Benefit".

That should apply the primary background mechanical benefits to you character.

Voila!

I'm also having this issue with the current build. When I choose Wandering Duelist from the Scales of War list, it does not grant the +3 to Intimidate. In previous versions it worked just fine.
