Managed to get an error altering attributes using the point buy method. I think I got to press + twice before a total crash (unrecoverable).

Here's a hint, it shouldn't be going a server round trip on altering an attribute...

I'm getting this same error trying to build a non-Essentials Mul Psion in Dark Sun. It first happened when I tried saving after levelling from first to second-level, and it also happens if I try to create a new level 2 character in Dark Sun.

Edit: Tried some other options, and it's happening for any character I try to create, in any setting.

First Bug Report.

SOLVED

Dear Dev Team. If you use the Classic CB Journal function (something that LFR PCs will likely be using), it will crash the import feature. I deleted my journals, saved the file with a different name and was able to import my Bard into the new CB. Add this to your list of stuff that will not import.

I read that you needed to have the your PC saved in the last relase XML format or it will crash. Saved the file witout deleting the journals and it worked. Have CustServ tell folks to make sure the PC has been saved since the last update of their classic CB or it will not work.

Thanks.

I am bringing this over from the Release Time thread:

I also wanted to point out, about the "System.IndexOutOfRangeException: Index was outside the bounds of the array" that a few of us have been getting, that I thought it might have been a browser/cache thing, but I get the same error in Chrome, IE and Firefox.

I suppose it could be the plugin cache, but I've not rebooted yet to test that theory.

Mine crashed for the first time trying to make a warforged paladin; the 2nd time while trying to import a character; and now crashes even when I try making a quick character. In other words, it's useless.

I had to refresh twice, but I successfully recreated my level 1 rogue.  Two problems with the finished character.  First, Sly Flourish is only showing the statistics for my equiped rapier, and not my hand crossbow.  The entire idea behind taking that power was to switch back and forth between weapons.  Second, the Duelist's Prowess daily gives you an at will of the same name when it's activated.  The at-will shows me as being unarmed.  Also, not a bug, but it would be nice to turn off the power cards for basic attacks.  Otherwise things seem to be going well.  Thank you for your hard work.

I created a new custom level 1 half-elf warlock. Clicked the save button at the end. Then  clicked on the "Home" button, the program asked me if I wanted to save my character again. I clicked "yes" and got this:

I couldn't get this copied with CTRL+C, I had to revert to the old DOS-style "CTRL+INS" to copy it.
Also, the box this error appeared it provded what seems like a link to customer service, but clicking it doesn nothing.

Picked "Custom",  Thief(rogue) from essentials. Level 11.

Crashed 5 times with Failed to InitializeImpl CategoryName is missing. I refersh my browser and it asks to reload this character again and throws this same exception.

This is really shoddy work guys. Really shoddy. As a professional developer myself I would be very embarassed right now to be a part of this release.

So far I've gotten a few errors:

The "Category is missing" (apparently known issue).
One time out (when refreshing).
One freeze (when "recovering" character, I sat for 3 minutes or so before refreshing).

Good news, the recover function seems to work.

Sometimes operations seem to take a really long time, where the form will go unresponsive for about a minute, then come back to life, seems to happen when I'm selecting feats or powers. Not sure if this is due to load or what not. I thought the dot net 3.5 product was slow sometimes, but this is bordering on unacceptable. I'm hoping this is launch problems, and just temporary for an adjustment period.

Also, in order to create a level 9 character, I had to click level up 8 times. Does this seem right?

And I got another freeze, while typing up this post. Refreshed, tried to recover, got an Error: Template Not Found. Refreshed again, tried to recover, this time it worked.

Reading other people's responses and seeing all the errors is a bit depressing. I expect it's gonna be a while before these issues are resolved. Good luck dev team.

When I created my character it gave me the option to choose my starting level.  It's possible that you missed that dropdown box, which defaults to one.

Just a tip: the CB runs noticeably faster if you add Microsoft Silverlight to your firewall exceptions.

Speaking of errors, when selecting themes or viewing the character sheet, the scroll bar automatically scrolls to the bottom instead of staying at the top.

The essentials character sheet basic attack areas suffer from being too small...

Ok, I had imported a level 28 minotaur fighter to try it out, and its probably not likely someone with that character would use the essentials sheet, but....

Specifically, the damage box can't contain 2d12 + 18.

I'm sure my experience isn't typical (I have a 50mb down 1.5mb up connection here at home) but the builder seems speedy and stable enough to me. ;)
