| #1tehsquirrelyNov 16, 2010 13:05:31 | Okay I know the CB just went live and this is its first update, but look at the essentials options. As a mage I can only take powers from HotFR, but as a wizard I can take mage powers in HotFR. Wtf is with that? Why can't my mage take winged horde, but my wizard can take beguiling strands? I really wanted to use this CB to make an enchancter charm specialist, but now I can't unless I shoehorn myself with only the powers given to me in HotFR, or do it ye olde fashioned way by busting out a half dozen books and my dragon magazine PDFs. I realize I could just select wizard to pick up the powers and just use my HotFR book for class features, but I really want to CB to be a complete one-stop shop for character building, I don't want it to basically just be an electronic book I can browse, I could use the compendium for that. I am dissapoint wizards, and I've been a loyal DDi subscriber since it went online. Other than this gripe, I do like the CB, and I'm glad we can finally use it for darksun, but please, stop treating essentials classes like they don't belong to their root class. A mage is a wizard, it should have all the wizard options! Slayers still get to poach fighter feats, mages still get wizard feats, but their powers have been segregated, which is just rediculous. Otherwise the CB is quite nice, and the layout isn't bad. I do feel it kind of silly to have to select your role, it's like making us select a build, sure we can, but anyone who's been playing the game for a while knows what every classes role(s) are. Now If I'm just being thick and there's some way to select all wizard options as a mage, someone please tell me and I'll just blush and be quiet. |
