I may have missed a thread, but I have a question concerning pp for essentials characters.

Wizards staff have repeatedly said essentials can use any path they qualify for. However, when I went to choose a path for my slayer, it would only give me the option for the Mythic Slayer path out of the handbook.

Has the CB just not been updated to allow for other paths, or are essentials stuck with the paths in their respective books?

If you choose the Quick Character or the March of the Phantom Brigade options when making a character you will never have anything made available to you other than Essentials options.

In addition, The clases from HotFL and HotFK automatically choose their respective Paragon Paths at 11th level. If you go to the "Details" button, scroll down, and then highlight Mythic Slayer, you can deselect it. Then, when you click the Paragon Path button, it will sow you all the Paragon Paths you qualify for, including Mythic Slayer.

The fact that choosing New means you can only pick Essentials is probably the the thing I hate most about the builder and I believe it shows that WotC is trying to push any new players into an Essentials only DnD.   I've already seen it where a player couldn't figure out why she wasn't seeing options from the Paladin because she picked New and was accidently remaking her character as a Cavalier.

So what you're saying is that choosing the option labeled "Build A Quick D&D Essentials Character" allows--nay, forces!--you to build an Essentials character.  It's a good thing there's another button then, eh?

On the one hand, they should label the button differently. On the other, what mccowen said.

I think they should just move the "Quick creation" to option number 2, and put the complete one at the top...

Or have default be custom campaign, and list the Quick Essential under the other options.

I suggested this quite a while ago.  The only main page options should be "New" and "Load".  "Quick Essentials" should be on the list of "campaign" options.  This way it is CLEAR that you will only get Essentials material in that type of campaign.
