So I have two computers, my desktop (which runs Windows), and my laptop (which is a Mac). Since the CB isn't released for Mac, I had to install it on my desktop.

I don't own a printer at home, which means that when I want to print files, I typically either have to have them in a format for a program I have on my Mac as well (Microsoft Office documents, for example, since I also have Office on my Mac), often meaning a PDF.

Is there a way to export my character sheet from the CB into a PDF so I could transfer it to my Mac and print it elsewhere? Or am I hosed and will I then have to head out and buy a printer?

Eldren73, currently there is no way to export to a PDF file.

Awww, that makes me a sad panda.

Off to buy a printer for me, then. *SIGH*

You just need to get one of the many programs that will act as a printer and produce pdfs.

For example: PDFCreator

Works just fine for me.

Wait, there *is* a way to export to PDF : just install a PDF virtual printer like CutePDF or PDFCreator. Once installed, you just print from the CB by selecting the virtual printer and it will create the PDF.

You guys are my new heroes. I downloaded CutePDF, saved the character sheet as a PDF, moved it to my Mac via a thumb drive, opened it up there, and it looked beautiful. I imagine it'll look equally as beautiful once I print it out, too. Thanks!

Yeah, this works great on screen, but the CB tends to use the entire page, all the way to the edge, with 0 margins - so there may be some fiddling around with the settings to get it correct.

But, the results are totally worth it. The Character Builder is flat out awesome.
