I know about iplay4E.com (and use it heavily) but I also do most of my playing in a place where the internet connectivity could be generously described as spoty (due to a lead lined floor above the venue.. yay dentist).

As such the thing that I most want is a better character sheet for using the builder at the table. I think it is telling that there are pictures around somewhere of WotC folks using iplay4E.com on their lap tops to play - because the CB is simply inadequate for the task.

What a "live" sheet needs.
  • To not affect the actual character record unless told to.

  • Character Defences with the ability to easily buff and debuff them

  • Hit points with the ability to easily apply damage and heal surge value with using a surge, or a set amount,

  • Temp Hit Points - which are factored in automatically when damage is applied.

  • Resistances - which can be factored in automatically when damage is applied, and that can be dyamically added to

  • Ability to dynamically record conditions. Should have ability to roll saves for S/E conditions easily

  • Way to control equiped items dynamically

  • List of Powers which when clicked "pop-up" the game rules and a way to make rolls with your available options according to equiped items.

  • List of items which when clicked "pop-up" the game rules for the item.

  • Ability to mark powers (character or item) used.

  • Ability to dynamically track Action Points - with pop-up reminders of Action Point effects (eg Paragon Path or Action Surge) when they are used

  • Ability to make notes and have them save to the Journal later.

  • Ability to add items & treasure, or remove the same and save changes to character record later.

  • Ability to add xp and save change to character sheet later.

Baring all of the above the current character builder needs the following to be more useable:
  • Ability to record conditions.

  • Correct application of milestones, short rests, and extended rests.

  • Ability to apply conditional/temporary bonuses to skills or defences and easily remove them without changing the character record. (eg once I give a character a temp +2 initiative I'd like to be able to remove it without having to apply a -2 to negate it resulting in a "houseruled" character record)

Now I know iplay4E does a large amount of what I listed above, but it has that one problem of needing an internet connection - it would be great to have that functionality without the demand for a live net connection as well.
