Finding games with the virtual game table?

Aug 30, 2011 16:02:37 Will the Virtual Game Table allow you to find game sessions to join? Or do you need to already have a group to play with? If I need a group is anyone looking for a new player? Im new to 4E, but I am looking to join a pretty regular group if possible. I know VT is still in beta at this point, but just thinking ahead.

You should probably just wait until you have VT access before you look for a group. I don't see much (if anything at all) to be gained by forming a group with others that also don't have access. Also, based on the comments of those who play I doubt it will take you long to find one.

Aug 30, 2011 18:11:08 You can find pick-up games or campaign to join at at given time depending on availability. It may also happen that none are going on at the moment. People use the Forums to post games, or the Camaign Manager.

Aug 31, 2011 9:06:00 DMs pretty regularly post invitations for players and they have started up some LFR groups as well, the main trick is finding one that meets when you are free.

Pick up games are not that hard to find on the forums and regular games are not that hard to find either. I have played in a one shot with plaguescarred and another one with frostoff for instance and would be able to do more if I had more free time.

I was able to find a weekly forthcore game that went on for about two months until forthcore fizzeled out and am part of regular group that started out as a pickup game at first and we have met about 3 times a month for the past few months.

Aug 31, 2011 11:17:51 Finding a game sounds very promising! I appreciate the help! I miss sitting around a table and slaying monsters with friends. Virtual Table sounds like a great tool. Thanks again.

That sounds likea good idea. I haven't read up much on the VT beta process but I'm guessing it's something like sign up and wait for an email for your invite? I know this is hard to answer but how many invites do they send out per month?

Firstly ... get your DDI Insider subscription finalised.

Lastly ... wander on over to the link below and place your name within stating that you are interested. This is the fastest way of getting an invite which is proving quite successful!

get a DDI subscription, post on that board, as we've mentioned enough that they should invite directly from interested Parties, and Plague managed to discuss it with Josh to get this ball rolling.

Once you post there, it seems to be a matter of days before you are flagged for Beta.

I just signed up for my sub! I clicked on the beta signup link and added a message in the forum about adding me to the list. Is there anything else I need to do? I have missed playing dnd so much and the VT is perfect way to get back into it.

If you just signed up for a subscription, to ensure that it gets activated, you need to do the following:

1 - Log out of WotC comunity site.
2 - Close all browser windows.
3 - Restart browser.
4 - Log back in.

If you paid by Credot Card, the activation should be nigh-on immediate. If you paid by PayPal, activation may take an hour or two, as Digital River only processes those in batches.
