| #1LocksleyNov 03, 2010 9:12:52 | I really want an offline edition of a character builder. I hope that the swarm of users feeling the same way will push that into a reality. However.... In the meantime, couldn't you, WotC, consider delivering a final update to the current desktop Character Builder so you aren't offending as many players and encouraging their departure? For example, in the last update you updated feats like Weapon Focus to apply only to Weapon attacks because of future expectations with Implement Focus. However, you never applied the other half of that, and so now there is no Implement Focus in the current application. Couldn't you consider providing one more update that would leave the current character builder in a more complete and viable state for customers that have already been members and paid for their subscription? Sure, they wouldn't get any more updates unless they were members - but leaving behind this in between product is unfair. Please consider making one final update for the rules and feats of the game. We understand that this update can't include Essentials classes and Dark Sun themes. Thank you. |

| #3borogamerNov 03, 2010 9:35:02 | This would improve my mood a lot. |
| #4GelatinousOctahedronNov 03, 2010 9:43:35 | At this point it would be nice if they just added the things like the dark sun feats, existing class powers, paragon paths and races. I also do not care as much about themes or essentials stuff. The updated essential races and feats would be nice, but I do not care nearly as much about the classes. |

(I've since moved from full-time teacher to full-time dad, and can't promise what I'll have in disposable income when that time arrives.) |
| #6kharminNov 03, 2010 10:17:40 | Nice thought. Won't happen. It's the WotC/Hasbro way: "Sorry, just use the new stuff now." /me shrugs @'s |
| #7DzanceNov 03, 2010 10:59:49 | Don't care much about the themes or Essentials class builds either (updated races and feats would be nice though). But I do want the Dark Sun class powers, feats, paragon paths and races in my offline Character Builder. Heck, if they agreed to update a final (pre-Essentials) Character Builder with incorporated errata I'd be willing to 'up' today, just to get it. |
| #8furiousgregNov 03, 2010 11:02:09 | Me too. |

Not much of an incentive here for them to do that. Easier/more profitable for them to "force" everyone to the new model to get this. /me shrugs @'s |

| #11Renark_von_Bek_02Nov 03, 2010 11:08:56 | Seriously, just a rollback for the monster builder would be fantastic. I would very much like all of this |
| #12frothsofNov 03, 2010 11:49:57 | yeah fix what you BROKE |
| #13griffithbNov 03, 2010 18:20:47 | Yeah, I would basically love them forever if the Dark Sun books I bought in August would be put into one final update for the offline tools. I mean, that's almost entirely data entry, not anything that requires an overhaul. |
| #14jeff-heikkinenNov 03, 2010 18:57:40 | At a minimum, fixing the stuff the last update broke, like, oh, every single saved Human character anyone had and the entire Shop screen, would be appreciated. For that matter, the reason these things broke appears to be that they got partway through updating the architecture to handle Dark Sun and Essentials, then abandoned that in favour of the web tools. Rolling those changes back, while keeping / adding whatever content they can within that framework and making the Essentials versions of the races work properly, would be acceptable but second-best. Finishing them and making the final update the one they promised us back in September would be much better, and might (or might not) be able to be shortcutted to a certain extent by porting code from the web tools depending how compatible the two are. |
