Finally as my group move through Scales of War I plan to publish as much information as fair use allows me to. Therefore I'll be building an adaptation guide as I go, sharing it here.

Edit 2: I brought this back from the dead as I got an email recently. Uploaded to a working location now. My game died off so I wasn't able to progress past the 1st adventure but I'm hoping this player's guide gives people a nice push off in their own campaigns.
Thanks for your work on this. It was just what I was looking for. One quick question. Are you using the maps from the modules for the towns or the actual FR maps (if there are any)?

So far I've been using the maps from SoW for at least the cities and just renaming them to match the FR placenames. I've kept the FR world-map though discarding the 'regional' maps given in the AP because they are not actually needed while you play.
This is easier for me as my group is new to D&D and come to the game with the 4th edition so there is no older FR game complicating matters.
If you have already established your own FR world within the 4th edition lore then go with the maps you have otherwise the best balance I've found is keep the town/dungeon maps from the AP but use FR for the rest.
Also I've found the AP can get quite loose at times so having some 'sidetreks' to weave the Adventures together can be useful and this is where all the FR resources come into their own.
I've GM'd FR for so long & know so much about it, I'm actually afraid to run a new world...lol...I may end up putting the SoW in the FR.

Well any feedback (especially on the 'lore' aspect) of the Player's guide would be great.
I felt my 0.1 version didn't really take enough of the lore into account which I corrected with the 0.2 version.
I'm an editor by trade, so I have a few technical ideas regarding the player's guide.
I may send you a fully gone over version soon.
But the big thing I noticed was that the intro says..
Scales of War takes place almost sixty years after the events in Red Hand of Doom which in turn occurs after the Spellplague had already hit.
but you have, on page 26...
Eighty years have passed since the fall of Azzar Kul, and in that time the Vale has enjoyed peace. Gradually, the people spread back out into the shattered farmsteads.
I've seen a few professional books and adventures and e-magazines that aren't as well done.
Another error I found though, is that you have
Inradine Menoviss (Human female Cleric) is the current Green Regent, living in Loudwater all of her life. She is a single parent to her only son Thurann.
But the module and part of the story has Thurann in distress because his father is one of the captives. It could be said that the Kartenix is an Idol instead. But probably better to change her story.
One of things I changed was to remove Kartenix and have Inradine as the parent.
I enjoyed your Player's Guide. I am looking to run th Scales of War AP in Forgotten Realms...and Im looking forward to seeing you adventure notes and any conversions you have done for Seige at Bordrin's Watch.
Superb job with the players guide. Anyone got any ideas where they are placing Sayre and Nefelus yet?

Ha! I thought that was Korpus site. I have been using it to build my SOW_FR campaign in MapTools. Played 1 session so far after a hiccup, but it has been really well. BTW, Thanks both to Korpus and J Sager for your time spent on enhancing the campaign.
I am getting ready to start the Scales of War Adventure Path and I plan to run it in the Forgotten Realms.
I may be wrong on this, but I was looking over some FR maps, and it looked to me like you could super impose the Elsir Vale map almost perfectly over the area just above Halruaa. I was planning on running the Scales of War as is (keeping the names and such the same), and placing it just beyond Halruaa. I haven't read much past the initial adventure (Rivenroar), so I'm not sure how far, or if the adventure exopands past the Elsir Vale (though I know that at a point later on you end up in the Shadowfell).
I do plan on incorporating some aspects of the Spellplague since the area I identified seems to be so close to the wastelands of Halruaa (separated by a siungle mountain range I believe).
Once again, i could have looked at the wrong maps, but I'm fairly certain they matched up.
I have been battling over the timeline, because I have participated in the Red Hand of Doom adventure, and the SoW adventures are suppossed to take place 10 years later. I am trying to decide how I want to handle this time variance due to the Spellplague. I was thinking that the Spellplague could have been happening during the Red Hand story, but it didn't really affect the Elsir Vale. Thoughts?

Hey... you've probably already started your campaign by now... But I'm currently running SoW in the Forgotten Realms and am also using the North.
I've replaced Brindol with Sundabar (the opening attacks in Rescue at Rivenroar are made outside the city's walls outside the Turnstone Gate), using the official map of Sundabar, and Overlook is now a non-canon New Felbarr which has replaced old Citadel Felbarr after it fell to the orcs one too many times. The Vents and other subterranean complexes in the Rauvin Mountains are remnants of the old Citadel Felbarr. The heroes will probably be able to set up some kind of a stronghold in New Felbarr.
Eventually the story will move to Silverymoon (Sayre) in the paragon tier, and the heroes will actually be recruiting new members of the League of the Silver Marches (the "Coalition"), including the elves of the High Forest and the various independent dwarven city-states. Nefelus will be a non-canon volcanic island in one of the inland seas created by the retreating Great Glacier.
Does anyone still have the guide available? I just started SoW within Forgotten Realms (we are still doing Rivenroar, which is a lengthy dungeon crawl for 4th edition newbies), but I started just a little further east than chez, but that is a good idea with Sundabar.
