Anyone here play with the Saga rules system?

Mar 05, 2008 22:10:00 I and my group were introduced to Dragonlance in the late 90s, through the novels. At that time Dragonlace was not being suppported by AD&D. When Fifth Age and the Saga system came out we jumped at the chance to play in Krynn, and we ended up loving the system, and we still use it to this day.
I was just wondering if anyone else still plays Saga rules.

Mar 15, 2008 12:32:15 I did for a short while, but not any longer. I remember our group really enjoyed the fifth age idea and the saga system rules.

The background generator was a nice way for new players to get robust backstories. And the relative free-form nature was a nice break from the status quo.

Unfortunately we alos found the saga system really flowed well with a small group, and when we got a larger group going, it was... often 'clunky' so we switched to a different game system.

I'm sure i have those cards around somewhere, but I haven't played it in years.

May 03, 2008 9:08:08 I really like the SAGA system myself. I played a bit when it first came out, and never forgot how great it was. I'm currently putting together a new campaign using the system, although not using the Dragonlance setting; it's still early days at the moment, but I'm looking forward to introducing some new players to the game.
