Until such times as the 4e PHB is released, I will not be able to flesh these mechanics out in their entirety, however I would appreciate any feedback on the direction I am planning on taking in order to adapt Dragonlance to the 4e engine. AFFILIATIONS: At character creation, you have the option of choosing an affiliation for your character, or to remain unaffiliated if you so choose. Being a member of an affiliation grants access to unique powers and feats that unaffiliated characters, or characters of a different affiliation do not have access to. Being a member of an affiliation may also grant you access to the resources of that affiliation. However, being a member of an affiliation makes you beholden to that affiliation in some manner, whether it be membership dues, being subordinate to the rules or regulations of your affiliation, or by being beholden to them in some other manner. CHANGING / GAINING AFFILIATIONS: Upon reaching 3rd level (or any level gained thereafter), you have the option to do one (and only one) of the following: - Renounce your Affiliation: This will result in you becoming unaffiliated with any organization, and prohibit you from accessing the resources of your former affiliation or from learning new feats or powers. You will retain the use of all Feats and Powers learned while a member of your affiliation, however some may cease to function depending on circumstances. - Renew your Affiliation: Providing you parted on good standing, you may be able to renew your affiliation with your former organization. You regain access to all resources, feats and powers you currently possess, and regain the ability to learn new affiliation feats and powers. - Gain a New Affiliation: An unaffiliated character may choose an affiliation for their character, providing they are in good standing with that organization and can demonstrate they share the same ideals and philosophies. Limits on Affiliations: A character cannot have more than one affiliation at the heroic tier, and no more than two affiliations at the paragon or epic tiers, nor can a character gain or renounce their affiliation more than once every three levels. KNIGHTS OF SOLAMNIA Paragon Paths: Rose Knight, Knight-Clerist Epic Destiny: Lord Knight KNIGHTS OF TAKHISIS/NERAKA Paragon Paths: Skull Knight, Thorn Knight Epic Destiny: Lord Knight THE LEGION OF STEEL Paragon Paths: Legionnaire Master Epic Destiny: WIZARD OF HIGH SORCERY Paragon Paths: Conclave Wizard Epic Destiny: Master of the Tower, Archmage More to come as new information becomes available. |
