I've been running a campaign based on the orignal Dragonlance modules for a few months now. We ran DL 1-4, followed by DL 6 and then skipped to DL 10 with the intention of going back and forth between the two stories. During the midpoint of DL 10, 4E was released and we switched systems. I've been converting things since then.

We finished DL 10 using 4E, then DL 7, and are now halfway through DL 12. There is really too much to recap, but I'll allow a few highlights:

1. We are currently about level 12 in 4E. We began at level nine, and I've been advancing levels at the rate of 3 levels per two modules.

2. Tanis and Laurana are both Warlords, and that class seems to fit them very nicely.

3. We made Gilthanas into a Wizard/Fighter/Wizard of the Spiral Tower, though we are currently revising him to replace Fighter with Swordmage. He might be better as a straight Swordmage for flavor reasons, but we like that side to have a true Wizard.

4. I have been using Dragonlances as a weapon with 1d12 extra damage per plus on a crit, and any hit on a Dragon is automatically a Crit.

5. Due to the nature of the Dragonlance game, I've been altering Dragons to be Elites at times, instead of Solos.

6. Draconians are very interesting under 4E rules. Baaz make an attack roll vs. Reflex to disarm when they die and are really dangerous minions at our current level, Bozaks get an area burst when they die and 4e monster creation rules(Controller and Artillery) were just made for Bozaks. Kapaks get a charge attack(their usually Skirmishers), and can lick their weapon as a minor action to poison it. When Sivaks die to a close or melee attack, they make an attack vs. Will vs every enemy in sight other than the slayer which if it hits makes the PCs not able to consider the slayer an ally(save ends).

7. My favorite 4E battle in any campaign I've been involved with was a battle vs. Raistlin changed into a solo monster in the nightmare of Silvanesti. Thunderwaving PCs into the Web spell is just beyond fun.

8. We've been using a mix of the Heroes of the Lance and our own creations. We've been using 5-6 active characters in any given battle.

If anyone has any questions on this, feel free to ask. I'll try to post updates after our sessions if people are interested.

Sounds interesting, i'd love to play the original Dragonlance story. Its great how no matter what system if you just make some modifications and use your imagination you can play anything you want.
