Silvanesti post war of the Souls

May 12, 2008 8:30:40 I haven't read the most recent books and was thinking of running an adventure in the area after the War of Souls without any spoilers would there still be elven guerilla fighters in the forests? Or would the minotaurs have cleared them all out?
What about creatures the PCs might encounter like shadows in the deeper parts of the forests or giant spiders. These were a few things mentioned in the War of the Lance hardback but I didnt see any mention of good encounters in the War of the Souls book.

I was thinking of a follow up adventure to the adventure in the DLCS.

May 12, 2008 14:48:34 As long as there are minotaurs in the silvanesti forest there will probably always be elven guerilla fighters there.

The elves also took care of their forest so they probably cleared out any hostile creatures that threathened the life of the forest (like giant spiders that were a danger to elven communities), now that the minotaurs are in control it is possible the they are unaware of the many dangers of the forests and these threats might rise in number so you could use them easily I would think.

And of course there will be minotaurs you can use for random encounters. Scout patrols and such.

In my campaign (set in 1000 AC), the minotaurs have constructed a wall around the entire forest, and therefore have garison posted along the wall. I am sure that the minotaurs would construct these type of outposts (even if there is no wall), throughout the forest.

Druidic circles always make for interesting encounters and they could easily be in the silvanesti forest hiding from the minotaurs.

May 12, 2008 17:59:41 I believe that the Legion Of Steel has a presence in the forest also,i think that there are about a 100 or so scouts there reporting on the minotaurs activities.

May 13, 2008 21:37:21 I would think that if the minitours are still occupying Silvanesti 650 years in the future there would not be any forest left; they would have exploited every tree for resources.

Minotaur’s are hardly lovers of nature, they have stripped their islands bare of jungle for wood for their ships, so it is a very good chance that Silvanesti will be one big strip mine in 600 years. They had already turned half of Silvanost into a quarry months after taking over.
