Well, there is option of parallel timelines and then we can being like... Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman... What optional timelines would you like? Krynn ruled by minotaurs? Raistlin became a deitie? Tinker gnomes starting the industrial revolution? what if lord sorth was avoided the Cataclysm? what if Tanis´ mother never have died? what if Taladas would be colonized by githyankis and githzerais from outer space? what if Ansalon is invaded by evil planes dragons (Chole, Gloom, Howling, Pyroclastic, Rust, Styx and Tarterian)? what if there is a religious war beetween divine spellcasters, the psionics and incarnum users? |

One of the ones you mentioned (Raistlin becoming a deity) is detailed in the book. I know it. Raistlin was the lord of nothing, because his work was only chaos and abominations. Other idea is Lord Soth came back from dread semiplane (Ravenloft)...and whole Sithicus with him, like a second shadow plane. What if the Chaos War or Second Cataclysm never would happen? (Graygem never would have been broken). what if Huma and Gwenyth would have a child, the first silver half-dragon in Krynn? (and after the childre of Gilthanas and Silvara...) What if Tanis and Kitiara have had a child? What if the son of Lord Soth has survived the cataclysm? |

I once (before that book) did something similar: the "inertia" of the timeline that should have been. That is, Takhisis stole the world but a "shadow" of what should have been stood there, like a ghost slowly dissipating. The Gods (except Takhisis, who was gone) stood there, thinking it was the true world. There was a Tanar'ri invasion (they noticed something weird in there that made invasion more easily). The idea was that, as time went by, this "inertial shadow" would lose "inertia" and slowly stop being... but we ended the campaign quite before that. |

In your campaign you can do whatever you want! ;) |

I can just imagine Tas going back in time and confronting Chaos "now listen here I have seen the future and it really spoiled things for the fans, my whole survival and Takhisis stealing the world made things so lame and the movie they made....." |
