Are creatures adjacent while standing on obstacle terrain?  I figure they are, but abilities like dwarven defender make little sense if one of the creatures is in a tree.  (for that matter how does defender block when he is behind another creature?Laughing)

Obstacle terrain doesn't affect melee attacks, however, since obstacle terrain requires two movement to enter, a creature cannot move into an obstacle while adjacent to an enemy.  The dwarven defender can block damage for any adjacent ally.  Obstacles are irrelevent.

Thats what I suspected, it just seems a little silly sometimes, but on that same theme the defender can block for people in front of him.
