They are used if you have multiple copies of the same creature on the board, so you can keep track of them (put one token on the creature and the matching one on its card). How do we obtain additional cards to customize our decks without purchasing additional box sets?  I have used Auggies Game Store. They sell individual cards (order cards) and creatures (figure and card), as well as tiles, if you are intereseted. Prices and shipping are very reasonable, imo.
