You can customize your warband for fun or competitive play. You can draft Creatures and Order cards. The game is scalable to multiple players, including team games. The bonus cards are playable in the Adventure games and the miniatures are playable in D&D games. The game has tremendous flexibility. If you're looking for only a few extra creatures or a pack of Order cards, they are readily available from Auggie's, CoolStuffInc or eBay. Whatever is most fun for you; that would be my advice on "how" you play this game.
