On Dungeons and Commanding

Dungeon Command is a tactical miniatures game from Wizards of the Coast. In the game, each player takes the role as a leader of a warband. As leader, you construct one-half the battlefield with interlocking tiles, deploy creatures against your foe and change the course of battle with Order cards. Your ultimate goal is to reduce the Morale of your opponent to zero. Each player starts with a predetermined Morale depending on the Commander card they choose before the game. Morale is earned by picking up Treasure on the battlefield and also playing certain Order cards. Morale is lost primarily when your creatures are defeated in battle or you have them cower in fear to keep them alive. Cower too much or lose too many creatures and you lose the game. The back-and-forth struggle has many options for warband & gameplay customization as well as multiple layers of strategy that will leave a player wanting more. Even as I write this paragraph, I am wondering why I’m not playing the game. Writing is for suckers – I could be playing Dungeon Command right now!

Thanks!  Excellent write-up, and enjoyable to read.  I wish I could've been there.  However, I'm not sure that I could've restrained myself from asking about the future of the game with Peter and Rodney there.

Oh, and the "Side Note: Ok, just one spoiler. . .Spoiler (click to reveal)" section...I couldn't get it to work.  Did you intend this as one of those "How do you keep an idiot in suspense?" jokes?  Because it worked on me--I must be an idiot!  Embarassed lol

That game between you and Nate--sounds pretty exciting.  I haven't played any competitive DC yet, but it's becoming pretty clear that the rate of drawing Order Cards is a pretty huge part of victory.
