Dungeon Command Drought

I bought all 5 boxes of the game and one extra. I bought over four copies of the game cards from each set from 3rd party vendors breaking the boxes and parting them out in addition to the whole stock boxes in my collection. Also I picked up figures from local stores. Dungeon Command is my favorite board game of choice and I check the forums regularly. It’s reasonable enough for WotC to be delaying future boxes while they are handling D&D next’s implementation IF they state that this is what they are doing. But remaining silent only suggests this game is going the way of Heroscape and Dragonlance. WotC is sitting on such super cool intellectual properties and I wish if they aren’t going to give them the attention they deserve they could at least licence them to someone willing to do service to the fans.

Developing competing products like Card Hunter are going to capitalize on this market as parts of it transition to the digital. If plastic/painting cost are too much or your player base aren’t where you like it a digital translation of your game in an asynchronous play format could provide wondrous benefits. I know your art work and solid models are at your fingertips.

(Imagine the cross device compatibility if it was coded in HTML5. I am not a programmer so maybe there is problems with that I haven’t thought of)

Well these are my thoughts. I have heard similar statements. I continue to vote with my dollars and time in the hopes they aren’t in vain.

It would be nice to see some expansions. In particular, I'd like to see card-only expansions that allow players to use the minis from Wrath of Ashardalong, Castle Ravenloft, etc.

I wish they'd just share some news....good or bad.

Agreed.  Why not include a Dungeon Command creature card and adventure game card with the new minis they are making?  It'd cost just a little bit and it would keep these lines afloat.

I take it no Dungeon Command for under the tree this year?

WOTC/Hasbro you guys going to issue a time of death for this line?

9 months without any positive feedback on a product line to the consumer base doesn't inspire confidence in your other lines.

Sad but true: I have four of the five sets: (looking to buy a Blood of Gruumsh off of eBay) but I don't see anything new on the horizon beyond that.  They could easily do a Tiefling Set or Demons of the Underworld Set,  or a Dungeon Command Wandering monster set (Beholder, Owl Bear, Purple Worm, Carrion Crawler, Mind Flayer Commander, Etc.)  Hopefully they won't let it end with a whimper...

That's the coolest idea for a Dungeon Command set so far!

Agree with the 3rd party idea. Wotc should listen to the fans in this forum for great ideas.

Anyway, I'm STILL hoping for the best...

Or here's another option: if they won't continue the line, then pass it on to another company that will.

Just a simple comment like "We've put it on hold until DnD Next is in stores" would be fine with me.  Unfortunately, this current treatment just reeks of horrible customer service and a total disregard of their customers.

I (and my group of fellow gamers here) agree wholeheartedly with the above. I've been a tabletop wargamer for years and when I found out about DC I got straight it. I absolutely love it as we all do, just from it's simplicity to pick up and play but it's depth and longevity too - not always two features that go hand in hand.

There definitely seems to be mileage in keeping this game going: other factions to explore, unique ways to keep the community engaged and buying (as that is probably what it is coming down to from a business perspective) so to just let it fizzle out would be disappointing and a huge shame.

It's a lovely product with huge potential. What more does a business want?!
