5th edition DM screens: What do you put on it?

With 5th edution not needing miniatures I've decided to start using a DM screen again so I've pulled out my 4th ed one. However with 5th edition being so rules light I'm finding it hard to fill up the four panels. What I have now:

1 panel: Skills and DCs

1 panel put aside for on the spot monster generation.

1 panel: Armour, Cost of living, item costs

1 panel: Weapons, item costs

---

So I've assigned data for 3 of the panels, but that first one is difficult. Any suggestions? I'm going with names for now, but could certainly use suggestions.

I would definitely want random encounter tables, and random NPC generation, hmm, and also treasure tables perhaps. I use the basic .pdf to reference equipment and the players can do that.

Different actions in combat, rules about bonus actions, rules about inspiration, rules about advantage/disadvantage (and their effect on passive abilities). I'd also want obscured definitions and cover bonuses. The rules for hiding.

I'd also want a huge blocked letter box on the back facing me that says "FIND WAYS TO SAY YES."

Conditions would make for a good panel.

Armor and weapons would seem to have minimal use if you have that information on your monster/PC stat sheets/cards already.

NPC diplomacy reactions and NPC names.

They should release one for every story season, like Tyranny of Dragons DM Screen, Prince of the Apocolypse DM screen, etc and have some info that is related ot that season in each along with various charts and tables.  They should also make it shorter, instead of taller.  So three 11 x 8 inch panels, so a total of 33 inches across when its sitting up.

Im hoping someone intrepid will create 8x11" horizontal inserts for my screen. I am thinking I may make my own.

if I may only request you format them for a horizontal screen.

Aaron, that is great news! Will you post them here?

Hopefully I have not managled the link... this should provide access to all who want it to a 3-page landscape layout DM screen of a basic nature. If it works for you, great, if not... I'm sorry, but I won't be making any attempts to better it, at least not until sometime around when WotC release their official screen so I can decide whether I think that is better than what I could put together or not.

Nicely done. I sat down this weekend to try something similar. I hated the outcome of what I did - yours is exactly what I was going for. Thank you!

The insert generic screen I bought a year ago has been probably the most useful GM aid I own. The fact you formatted them for horizontal orientation is perfect. Thank you and you get a +3 from me.

One thing I noticed that isn't on these that I wish was in my session this week is light sources.  That'd be very handy.

I posted this in another thread, but I created some horizontal screen inserts.  I am going to rework them once I get my hands on the DMs guide with random encounter tables, etc..

Enjoy!

I've always preferred art on the back side of the screen myself.

Awesome, I will update my inserts with the various light options.  Torch, Lantern, Bullseye Lantern,  Would you think spell/magic item options should go in there as well?
