I want to start this thread by saying that first and foremost I know this isn't the easiest and always most practical tool for Dungeon Masters to use, but if you can get one it makes your job much easier and a lot more visual fun for your players. Now you may be asking what the heck I am referring to. I am referring to a projector.   I recently purchased a projector for use with other things but had the idea to incorporate it with our roleplaying experiences when I read a forum at a different website discussing the use.   Unfortunately I do not have skills to mount the projector into a gaming table type experience where the image is actually onto the table with 1 inch squares and all that high speed stuff, though I have seen some images of people who have. But I have used it to project over land maps such as that in the D&D starter set onto the wall behind me while playing the game so that players have a point of reference when I am referring to certain things in the game world such as the Triboar Trail where the action from the new adventure begins.   To sweeten the pot I hope to put together some type of soundtrack and have it in mp3 format on my laptop and have that play through the projector speaker while we play.    I hope that down the road Wizards will offer some interactive PDF style maps for their adventures that can be used in this way, but I am sure even if they do not some enterprising fan will come along and create some.   So what is everyone's thoughts on using a projector for gaming? Is there a cool tool that you use when you game?
