If you want to be ungenerous, make the PC use whichever feature was from his L1 class, ignore the other.

If you have multiple features that give you different ways to calculate your AC, you choose which one to use.
As such, a barbarian/draconic sorcerer would choose either 10 + dexterity modifier + constitution modifier (from Unarmored Defense), 13 + dexterity modfiier (from Draconic Resilience), or the AC calculation of any armor they choose to wear. |
