Bardic Riddle

What would you guys suggest I do with this riddle? It is part of the Bards Background. The bard is lvl 5 lore. The party consists of 8 players between levels 5-7. Most of the time only 6 people are playing at a given time.

First part in Celestial "Inquiries mystic of hormonies old come from mechanisms that creak and corrode."

Second part in Infernial "Pass the threshold of truth be told to Alchemy's metamorphosed strings of gold."

The bards mentor had left her a letter before he went out to find a platinum ukulele and never returned. She just translated it to that. The riddle is the players concept and wording. Most of the rest of the party has made advancements into their background "quests" so I feel they are going to start looking into the Bards soon.

As far as th Ukulele I am thinking that it could be a magic item that requires attunment, gives advantage on peform rolls when used, and gives the bard the ability to give 2 people bardic insperation per round, not to exceed her normal max of insperations per rest.

Thanks for any ideas.

The riddle is quite hard to understand, but I can see where the idea of an instrument would come in. I have to ask, however, why a Ulkelele? And why Platinum when the riddle states "Metamorphosed strings of gold"? Anyway, that aside, I would think that the item should instead give the bard the following: "While attuned to this item, a Bard may use their Bardic Inspiration to inspire up to two targets per use and you gain one more Bardic Inspiration Die per day." And I think it should be a Legendary Item. If not for it's abilities, then for the fact that it's made entirely out of Platinum and likely is worth more than an entire kingdom.

Sorry, that is the item her mentor went to find, with the riddle the only clue. The riddle is a riddle to me and was hoping for some great ideas from the wonderful imagination I see from time to time on these forums. One charcs background led to a dungeon of a ancient civilization where they killed everything. Another led to a coven of hags that has been terrorizing the area. They made a deal with them, giving up a couple of magic items and a second born. Even though they could have easily slaughter everything. The first born was kidnapped by some succubi.

It's obvious.

The first part refers to The Organum of Pebblefoot, a legendary gnome stream-organ that has been lost for centuries. It will be difficult to locate. If you play the right tune on it (Charisma/Performance check) the resonances cause a panel to spring open in the plinth it stands on, revealing a Necklace of Adaptation, 1d10 platinum pieces and a treasure map leading to the second part.

The second part refers to a dungeon protected by a two talking statues, one of whom always lies and the other always tells the truth. The usual puzzle - you are allowed to ask one question. If you correctly identify the truth-teller, it opens a portal to the dungeon. It tells you that "a great treasure lies within" but warns you that the dungeon will be flooded with poison gas a short time after it is entered. That's why you need the Necklace - to protect you from the poison gas. The dungeon is inhabited by hostile undead who are unaffected by the gas. The Platinum Ukelele is in the last room, along with the corpse of bard's mentor, who got this far without the Necklace but didn't make it out in time.
