#1 EricKollman Jun 13, 2015 23:01:31	I am trying to convert an old 3.5 edition module to 5th edition, and a big part of it has to do with the need to use a consecration spell on a descrated shrine.  I don't think there is a consecration spell in 5th edition.  Does anyone know if there are any spells that have a similar purpose and features to the old consecration spell?
#2 iserith Jun 14, 2015 7:46:57	Off the top of my head, hallow.   But you needn't actually use an actual spell or create one. You could just put a "consecration ritual" on a spell scroll and provide it to the PCs to use when the time is right. I'd have it work in various stages that could be interrupted, then if it makes sense to, have a horde of undead or the like trying to stop the caster.
#3 Barky Jun 14, 2015 13:39:06	I steal stuff from 3.5 all the time. I think it's the easiest former version to "convert" to 5E (I use quotes because, for the most part, you don't have to convert much of anything at all).

#5 BRJN Jun 14, 2015 17:36:24	Older editions had a whole set of similar spells that varied only by alignment.  Desecrate (Evil) / Consecrate (Good) / &c.  Also the Blasphemy / Dictum / &c set.   For your purpose, take the spell in the rules and figure there is also a good / evil / lawful / chaotic analogue.  An old Spell Compendium or an IRL thesaurus will give you ideas to name anything you have to create yourself.
