Anyone have any good resources for player created organizations or guilds? I have the old D&D 3.5 PHB2 but that isn't that great.

The group wants to create a guild that they all belong to to help with the motivations of the characters to work together also we have a few people that can't make it every session or once in a while have a drop in for 1 session so it would be nice to have a built in reason.

Bfore the next session I'd like to do a group improve thing to create the guild but was hoping for some help on good questions to ask to help them shape the guild.

Thanks

Question 1) What does the organization want to accomplish?

Question 2) How do they go about accomplishing it?

I won't say those are the only questions they ought to ask one another, but probably the two most important, and a discussion with follow up questions will probably evolve naturally from those two.

Awhile back someone posted the idea of "Group Backgrounds." Either in lieu of or in addition to the standard Background all characters start with, he suggested a Group Background that grants a feature everyone shares. One that I vaguely recall was "Secret Cult" that granted all members the ability to communicate over a distance, or something to that effect. I didn't bookmark it, but he had the write up posted somewhere off site. If he's still around, or if anyone else has the link, maybe they can post it.
