I'm fairly new to D&D and very new to DM'ing games. I am about to wrap up running a group throug the 5tth edition starter set campaign the Lost Mine of Phandelver. I want to keep going, and am super excited about branching out to create custom campaigns so I have written a campaign for the group to continue once the intro is done.

As this is my first attempt at a custom campaign, I was hoping for some feedback from more experienced players and DM's. I have written the story and basic side plots of the story, but have not detailed the enounters themselves (nor treasures or things like that, the group I'll be running will start around lvl 5, and I plan to use internet maps tailored to the situations for encounters). I would certainly appreciate any feedback on the stroy itself. Does it make sense? Is it canonical with the world of Faerun roughly a decade after the spellplague. Would it be interesting and believable to a player? Would a player care about the NPCs or over arching story?

Any suggestions on what doesn't make sense or how it could be improved would be greatly appreciated. As well as general feeback on building a custom campaign to be enaging to players.

General background is that in the final area of the 5th edition starter set campaign, a waterlogged map, found on a drowned body, put to a bright light can be discerned to provide a location to another cave entrance a few miles to the north, in which dwells a mechanic gnome. The scenario itself should describe the rest.

Also, there are still some unanswered questions to myself in the scenario that anyone could provde suggested answer for.

It's fairly long, so I've uploaded it to pastebin at http://pastebin.com/1SButD5v

Again, thanks in advance for any feeback, positive and negative.

These forums are closing in a week or so. You probably won't get much feedback.

I'm not going to a random strangers pastebin to get viruses. Post it here and ill look it over. If its "Fairly long" to the point that you don't want to post it, its probably too long for you to use to run a game.

3e Forgotten Realms Campaign Guide is basicaly 10,000 plot hooks disguised as a Gazetteer of the Realms.  4e Neverwinter Campaign Setting is near by Phandolin and has stuff that low-level characters can handle.

Talk about this with your players: what do THEY want to check out?
