#1 WolfgangDroven Aug 21, 2014 22:12:05	I am trying to make a pantheon of gods for my campaign. They list some gods with a domain of death and then say that info will be in the DMG. Is there any info on the Death Domain out there so I don't have to wait till november for it?   WolfgangD
#2 Atheosis Aug 22, 2014 1:08:00	For the life of me I do not understand why they didn't include more domains in the PHB.  It's a glaring hole in the book honestly.  And no there is no info on it, at least not any that I could find.

As a cleric fan I think what is there is reasonably acceptable but I feel that a number of domains have been left out purposefully so they can pad out a future 'Cleric handbook'' style release. Though at least the Death domain will be in the DMG.   Frankly though my bigger problem is that the list of gods in the apendices lacks some of the 4e gods. Mind most of the core 4e dieties are from Greyhawk but some are missing that absolutely should be in the list. Avandra, goddess of luck and patron to halflings should be in the Non-Human Gods section. Remove some of those monstrous gods (why are they even in the PHB, that's MM material) to make room. Then there's Erathis, god of civilization and invention. Always stuck me odd that most of the long lists of gods in previous eds didn't include a god of invention or civlization, which would be one popular god. I get Garl Glittergold for the gnomes but a hell of a lot of them would worship Erathis.   Most importantly however - and this is unforgivable - the most popular god in 4th edition that deserves to be there more than any other from 4e is the Raven Queen. What an idea this god is, a being that is not evil, does not strive to kill but sees death as the ultimate neutrality that fights other pretenders who would be in her place, most of them evil like Orcus. It helps that she's heavily inspired by The Morrigu one of the coolest gods of mythology, Irish goddess of war. Most of the death gods in the lists are evil 'bad guys cause we need a badguy god' or utterly unneccessary like Kelemvor which is perhaps the one god for Forgotten Realms nobody ever cares about. The fact that the death domain is going to be in the DMG suggests it isn't designed for players, but a death god that is utterly neutral (as death is) is the perfect reason to have that domain.   I know, I can make up my own gods, but a list of gods without the Raven Queen is unforgivable. There better be mention of her when the DMG hits and we get info on the Death domain.
