The chart on page 274 of the DMG has baseline values for all the CR's, so if you wanted to make an animal that was 1 or 2 levels higher than a baseline one, you could use the table to figure out the AC, hitpoints, and damage of the new monster's attack. |

The MM has Giant Ape, Giant Badger, Giant Bat, Giant Boar, Giant Centipede, Giant Constrictor Snake, Giant Crab, Giant Crocodile, Giant Eagle, Giant Elk, Giant Fire Beetle, Giant Frog, Giant Goat, Giant Hyena, Giant Lizard, Giant Octopus, Giant Owl, Giant Poisonous Snake, Giant Rat, Giant Scorpion, Giant Sea Horse, Giant Shark, Giant Spider, Giant Toad, Giant Vulture*, Giant Wasp, Giant Weasel and Giant Wolf Spider
There is also the Worg, which is a bigger wolf, but less than a Dire Wolf that is often found with goblins.
*Giant Vultures are evil and oddly intelligent, to counter the intelligent and good giant eagles. |
