Would it be game breaking to remove the stone's endurance ability, and instead replace it with the ability to wield versatile weapons one handed yet still get the larger damage die? |

It'll never be WotC sanctioned, but just use the damage dice system from 3.5. A large sized Javelin deals a d8, Large sized Maul deals 2d8, Large sized Throwing Axe deals 1d8, Large Sized Club deals 1d6 and so on and so forth. it's not difficult. Just make sure that they take a penalty of some kind. I'd recommend that they take at least a -2 or -1d4 penalty on their attack rolls. |

The whole thing is strange to me. |

Here's Powerful Build. I'm quoting from the Half-Giant for copy/paste issues (and because the half-giant was the actual source for this ability; goliaths came quite a bit later.)

| #11whatisamanApr 09, 2015 14:12:19 | How about allowing goliaths to wield two-handed weapons in one hand, albeit at disadvantage, kinda like with halflings/gnomes and "heavy" weapons. |
| #12supreme_slayerApr 10, 2015 12:35:32 | The reason I think for the change is because giving a race an inherent increase to potential damage makes it an obvious choice in a lot of cases over others, and further force the race into a specific role. Defensive boosts can be universally shared among the classes, and don't mess so much with the numbers of the game. Especially when it's something that's just 1/long or short rest. |
