Where does it say how many to give out?  I can't find it anywhere in the HotDQ module; did I miss it?

 

Is it different for AL play?

I belvie for AL you get 10 days at the end of each episode.

Why not simply decide for yourself? How many downtime days does the party need?

Well, I thought it would be useful to have some guidelines in general.

 

Where does it detail the downtime day 'rewards' for Encounter missions?

At our table the characters decide what downtime they want. Players are warned of course if downtime might affect time sensitive concerns.
