So the party is fighting a drider, he is in a single room and has cast darkness, am I correct that the drider can not see in the room as well as the players? I am Considering him moving then drop darkness and use bite and 2long sword attacks on the tank. Any tips and tricks or cool rp stuff would be great

Correct, the drider cannot see through its own darkness spell. Unless you're trying to force the PCs out of an area (such as casters or archers hanging back behind melee), you're probably better off having the drider drop faerie fire on the PCs. Otherwise, you risk disadvantage on the drider's attacks. Use the climbing ability to get behind the party lines and flay the softer targets or loose arrows at the party from a good vantage point that keeps you away from the heavy melee damage dealers. Use the longsword two-handed because the drider has no shield.
