If a character has an effect on them (such as blinded) and is subsequently hit to dying (but not dead), if that character is then healed back into the fight, how do you treat the condition they had before dying?  Would the character after being healed no longer be blinded, or would the blinded condition continue?

Most spells that bring a person back state to life whether they cure disease, cure poison, heal injuries or regrow limbs, so it depends on the source of the status. Most temporary conditions aplied by spells and similar effects will wear off by the time the raising spell is, but spells with long duration might still be on the target (geas/suggestion/charm person). Permanent effects would be healed as per the spell in question.

I imagine you're talking about using some sort of healing spell while a PC has been knocked unconscious and is dying. An effect ends when it says it ends. If the PC is blinded until the start of your (the creature who caused the effect) next turn, that's when it will end. Hit Points are an abstraction of the creature's well being, gaining and losing them doesn't do anything for effects that don't interact with Hit Points.

So the answer your to your question is; no, they'll still be blinded unless the condition would've ended by other means before they were brought above 0 Hit Points.

I agree.  Unless you are using something like heal that states that in addition to returning hit points it removes the specific condition.

OK thanks.  That's what I thought; just wanted to check.

Random Heads up:

Mummies.

If someone gets mummy rot and then is knocked to 0 from another damage source...
... they can't regain hit points.

They can't be stabilized with hit point gain.

Sucks to fight mummies.

I look at death as a 'reset' of sorts.   If you are dying and come back, you have the same conditions.  If you die and come back (revivify, raise dead..) I would have the conditions end.

If you try and game the system, by purposely dying so you can get revivified.... bad things happen to you....
