I seem to remember Mike posted some basic guidelines for building/adjusting encounters somewhere but I can't seem to find them anywhere with the website revamp. I'm going to need to scale Hoard of the Dragon Queen since it's written for 4 players and my group has 6 and I'd like some basic guidelines to keep things balanced.

If anyone can provide a link I'd appreciate it.

On the subject of scaling adventures to party size, I do really wish they adopted something you see a lot in Savage Worlds.  They will list the monsters/npcs in an encounter and tell you to include 1 or 2 per hero etc, so that the scaling is already done for you.

Here's an example from their free test drive:

• Father Miles: Use the Citizen template at the end of the adventure.
• Hounds (4): See page 6.
• Huntsmen (2 per hero): See page 6.
• The Master: See page 5.

This may work as well for some DMs right now...

(numbers in red are based on D&D material published up to August 9th 2014, number in grey are calculated extrapolations to suit my home-campaign use. Also, Quarter and Eight Challenges are mixed...but it works just fine.
