#1 JustJimmie Sep 28, 2015 10:17:57	A familiar is reincarnated into an entirely different creature. What happens to its stats? It obviously never rolled for them. I only had them because of the creature that it was. Does it take on all the stats of the new creature or does it keep mental stats like a pc?
#2 AaronOfBarbaria Sep 28, 2015 11:48:25	A familiar is not "reincarnated" it is a spirit that can assume the form of a variety of creatures, and when it does so it takes on all the traits of that creature because that is what the find familiar spell says it does.   When one "dies" (which it doesn't, actually, it just disappears when it hits 0 hp, says so right in the find familiar spell) and you cast the spell again to have it reappear, it's just back, and still following all the same rules - you don't actually have to cast raise dead or reincarnate on it. You actually can't cast raise dead on it because it doesn't leave a corpse for you to touch which that spell requires, and you can't cast reincarnate on it either because that spell specifies you touch a dead humanoid or a piece of a dead humanoid and a familiar isn't a humanoid.
