I am looking at the list of forgotten realms gods in the back of the 5e players hand book. Can I assume that all of the gods listed there are alive and well and being worshiped somewhere in the realms? I am trying to run the forgotten realms as close to cannon as possible. I am hoping I can just hand the players this list and say pick a god my guess is it’s not that simple. |

My expierience is more 3e than 4e. Hopefully we will get a Forrgotten Realms Campaign guide in the near future. Click on the "As" to check out a link that might help you.

In the process, AO has revived a lot of deities, those in the PHB are all fair game plus any god you actually wants to live again. Maybe some who were forgotten long ago (means, you just created them). Now the gods won't interfere as much personally in the realms as before, since they got taught some lessons on the way.
