| #1BohrdumbJul 20, 2014 12:08:25 | I'm using the Starter Set and the .pdf to run a game Tuesday night for some relative newcomers to the game. One of the guys is one his way to becoming a park ranger and really wants to play something druidic. As the game doesn't currently offer me those options, I was considering throwing him a Hedge Wizard type that would pull a spell or two from the Cleric for healing purposes, and then refluff some of the Wizard spells to come out more naturey sounding. Anything in particular jump out to anyone that would crush balance? I'm thinking about just giving him a heal spell, but I may throw another Cleric spell his way if he asks. |

And a level 8 version that you can use to provide more spells/etc as he levels up:

The source and other pregens here:

Alternatively you could go the roleplay route with a cleric who serves a forgotten realms nature deity from this list:

You could give the PC hide armor and otherwise make a nature-y type of PC to role play with. You might need to use the Basic D&D pdf to convert from the pregen as well.
Finally, I have been playing the Archer Fighter pregen PC and it would not be much difficulty to have her multiclass at level 2 using the cleric spells, or as a druid using the druid spells from the first link above. That way you could start with a pregen and he would have the option to MC or just keep going vanilla fighter. Personally I would go with my first two links above and use the pregen druid. I don't see a huge difference in pregens from the playtest and released 5ed that would make it prohibitive to run.
Hope this helps. |

| (Reply to #5)5Shilling | I just noticed this preview of the Hermit background from the coming Players Handbook- seems like an excellent fit for a Hedge WIzard http://www.enworld.org/forum/content.php?1765-D-D-5E-Hermit-Background-Previews-plus-the-Starter-Set-Character-Sheets!#.U82FgPldXIY |
