#1 RCNovak Jul 09, 2015 11:04:57	Looking to help one of my friends out who likes the idea of his Wizard doing only Force/Psychic Damage to enemies, as he simply beating their minds and bodies into submission and not permanently scarring or maiming them with fire/lightning/ice/etc. Wanted to develop a new attack cantrip that deals Force Damage. I suppose I could easily reflavor Firebolt or something to do Force Damage, but it would be nice to have a new spell that feels and operates a little differently. I was thinking something along the lines of "Minor Magic Missile" or "Minor Missile"... does Force Damage, only releases one Projectile, and maybe instead of autohitting it has Advantadge on the Spell Attack, so there's the chance to hit and it's not truly homing? Maybe it does 1d2 damage as opposed to 1d4? Just looking for suggestions here, brainstorming.

A creature or object hit by this spell is pushed 5 feet away from you.   This spell’s damage increases by 1d8 when you reach 5th level (2d8), 11th level (3d8), and 17th level (4d8).
#3 DMcatts Jul 09, 2015 11:24:13	How about Eldritch Blast?   The warlock cantrip Eldritch Blast  may work for you.  It is already a cantrip and does force damage, just reflavor it and name it Force Blast or Beam of Force whatever works for you and your setting.
#4 Rhym Jul 11, 2015 4:14:29	Eldritch Blast is balanced around the warlock though, and is my far the most powerful cantrip. There is a reason warlock dips are so common. Force damage is one of the best damage types already, so even a 1d8 is slightly better than a firebolt already.
#5 Yunru Jul 11, 2015 4:31:56	Without the +Cha Eldritch Blast is just a force version of Firebolt, only more averaged because of multiple attacks.
