Help Needed with Hold Breath ability in PotA

Hi everyone, 

 

Just curious how other DMs are handling this "issue"? Looking over the monster stat blocks for PotA, I noticed the the Howling Hatred Preists and Initiates have a Hold Breath ability. I cannot figure out why this is, and why a Crushing Wave Preist or Reaver wouldn't have this.

 

To me, it makes more sense that a water worshipper would be able to hold it's breath or water breathe.

 

DMs, thoughts? Anyone DM who's played this, what would the Howling Hatred use Hold Breath for?

 

I'm thinking of moving this ability from the Howling Hatred monsters over to the Crushing Wave monsters.

I think it talks about it in the adventure somewhere. The initiates are taught to try and become one with the air or something. They have to try and not breathe? The end result is that they become susceptible to the cult's brainwashing, of course, but I think that's the main idea.
