He is "not happy" about the material component to cast the spell.. 1000gp?! lol Has anyone house-ruled this, and what are your experiences with this spell in-game. I can see why they made the cost so high, so that the party can't spam-cast it every day, but i am curious on how others have handled it.. Leave as is? House-rule cost ? Thoughts? |

Getting advantage on all Wisdom saves saves the day often enough. |

| #4BRJNApr 18, 2015 17:46:21 | If the PCs are heading into something for which Heroes' Feast is part of a good prep plan, also allow the PCs to find enough money to afford it. Or have a rich ally make a "donation to the cause". As a for instance, Waterdeep has about 70 Noble Families who surely want their names to be associated with the war effort. Decide if / how you want this option to tie into that chart for "Who is going to help?"
Alternative (requires house rules): Expensive material components can be replaced with charges from a wand / staff / whatever. To make this an equally costly decision, do not allow items that regenerate their charges overnight. Figure out cost-per-charge of the original magic item, and suck out charges until you equal the cost of the Feast's component.
