am thinking about house ruling these spells as not requiring concentration.  How much stronger do you guys think that makes a warlock and ranger??

I think that would be fine.... in terms of not dropping off from failed CON saves from damage.

Although I'd advise some napkin maths with buff combos like Swift Quiver and Hunter's Mark (which is an Extra +4d6 damage/turn if every attack hits)

I've also houseruled Hunter's Mark as a free spell for the Ranger in my game, and maybe Hex for Warlocks.

imo, Hex is too good to simply eliminate the Concentration requirement.  First it can already apply a slightly weaker form of two of the curses that Bestrow Curse allows )(and with Bestow curse ou only get one of thoise).  Swcond it has a 90' rage (compare that to Besteow Curse's "Touch" range).  Third, and this is the biggie, Hex has no to hit roll or saving throw..

I would be fine improving the "At Higher Lvels" feature so that it didn't require contentration when used from a 4th level spell slot or higher.

Well, it means my Paladin gets to run Hunters Mark *and* bless.

Why do you want to eliminate the Conc?

Another option is to just declare that the conc can't be broken by taking damage, or that the roll is with advantage.
