Feat

Arcane Strike  (To mimic - Sword Sage, dusk blade, sword sage, arcane archer. etc)

Choose 1a or 1b

1a. As a bonus action you may cast a spell of 1st level or higher that requires a melee or ranged spell attack into a weapon.

1b  As a bonus action you may expend a spell slot of 1st level or higher to do d8 + d8 force damage per level of the spell.

2. This spell imbues your weapon and dissipates after your next attack (hit or miss) or the end of the round.

3.  When you strike with that weapon and hit, the spell is released and the attack does normal weapon damage plus the spell effect to the creature hit. (A critical would affect both spell and weapon damage).

-----

Example:  Bonus action cast inflict wounds into a long sword.  Attack creature, if you hit.  Damage is

d8 long sword +3 strength + 3d10 inflict wounds.

Having this work for cantrips would probably be too powerful as it's simply extra damage each round if there is a free bonus action.

I thought about this working for the whole attack cycle instead of just one attack but it makes it more powerful than the original spell as you get multiple chances to hit with the spell instead of one.  I am open to discussion on this one.

It basically gives you a very limited sorcerer quicken affect for a narrow range of spells and is very thematic for that type of character.

Thoughts?

Your arcane Strike is basiclly the paladin's smite, but you hVe to commit to it before mking the attack. It seems weak.
