| #1randlDec 05, 2014 13:27:22 | I have a player in a home game that wants to tumble go avoid AoO without having to give up thier attack action to Disengage. I don't have the DMG yet, so I don't know if this have been covered. I am considering two options:
1. Give up half movement to make an Acrobatics roll against the AoO roll and use better of that and AC.
2. Give up half movement to make an Acrobatics roll vs. DC 10+Attack bonus to completely avoid AoO.
In both cases Disadvantage would be applied to avoid multiple AoO.
Additonal homerule for review: Allowing darts to be drawn and thrown using ammunition rules instead of standard object interaction rules. |

EDIT: Also, I believe the rules already state that spaces occupied by other creatures count as difficult terrain, so having to give up half your movement seems a bit harsh. What if the person tumbling is a halfing, who can already move through larger creatures' spaces freely? |

Disengage already does what he wants, and using skills in combat almost always comes out as a Action anyways, what he would use to just Disengage and just say he is tumbling away. I dig he wants to take advantage of being a nimble character, but I lean towards the side of Dex is damn near best Attribute to raise for pure utility (espically in the physical stats), makes me not overlly keen on giving it another advantage over making a powerful/strong Str build. |
